The Nursey is Now Equipped With Pillows

The nursery is almost finished. Yes, I can't believe it either. It seems like we have been working on it for a long, long, long time. For a while there I had lost all motivation to do anything with Finn's room but I've caught a second wind and we're finishing it up this weekend. All that's left is the curtains. I'm making them. I'm scared (that's why it hasn't happened yet).

Anyway... I finished all the pillows for his room. I LOVE pillows so they are placed sporadically throughout the nursery. Remember this post? Well good news, I stayed pretty true to my word and I achieved most of the aspirations which I'm proud of, including some of the pillows (couldn't make all of them happen, I'm not made of miracles.)

Remember ^ this pillow?                                   Ya it was hard work but I did it and I'm
Well it's $70 and I just can't afford that. So I recreated            happy with how it turned out. This one was
it to the best of my ability.                                     difficult. I printed out a map of Alaska then
had to draw it to scale on a larger piece of
paper then I cut out the wool felt, sewed it
to the front panel, then sewed the pillow and
                                                                                                                 stuffed it with fiberfill.

Oh how I loved ^ this pillow. But unfortunately it            What do you think of the bear? Very Alaskan
sold so I was forced to recreate it but with a bit of            right? The bear is felt that I simply cut out and
a twist!                                          before sewing the pillow I stitched it to the front
                                                                                       panel. So easy!

That burlap one in front is supposed to be round. It looked great in my head.

Plaid plaid. There's just so much of it. I love it.

So there you have it. One step closer to getting this Alaskan haven finished. I can't wait for it to be done and present it to the world (blogging world).
