Non-Sushi, Sushi

Noah and I aren't big fish eaters, and when it comes to raw fish we flat out refuse to eat it. We have tried Sushi many times and we just aren't fans. My eyes and my stomach are telling me 2 different things because I think sushi really looks good, so we decided to stay in tonight and make teriyaki chicken sushi rolls and they turned out delicious!

Instead of using nori (seaweed sheets) we used spring roll skins.

This is pretty much what ours looked like before we rolled it. Minus the seaweed. We used teriyaki chicken, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and avocado.

This is how they turned out!

With the skins, we made some spring rolls too. They taste a lot better than they look.

  1. Funny you did this post, because last week I was so wanting to make Sushi! Did you buy a little kit somewhere? (the bamboo roller thingy maggig)

  2. Little miss Susie Homemaker!! Lyss this is awesome! I am so impressed with you. Why did you never do this when I lived with you?

  3. Oh Ali I'm sure we made delicious things.. remember our crepe party in Alaska? And our fake thanksgiving dinner? haha.

Beth, we actually just bought the bamboo rolling mat on amazon and we found a recipe online.
