Back to Where it All Started

@

You know that place that gives you that warm feeling inside?
The place with so many wonderful and uplifting memories?
The place that makes your heart skip a beat when you think about it?
That place that you yearn for often.
Skagway, Alaska is that place for me.
I can't really explain it but I almost get teary eyed when I think about it because spending the summer there in 2008 changed me forever.
It made me a stronger person.
It made my relationship with Christ deeper and better.
It made me so so happy and Skagway helped mold me into the person I always wanted to be.
It's a place where you can be you, and nobody is there to judge you.
The fresh air and beautiful scenery takes your breath away.
It's just so simple and real.

When it's raining outside I sometimes stand in the rain with my eyes closed and pretend I'm walking down the boardwalk on Broadway in Skagway.
In my mind I walk by all the shops, I see all the people that I spent so much time with that summer, I can even still smell that icky sweet smelling cigarette smoke that always seemed to fill the air right by the little shop I worked in.
I replay the fond times I had with Noah. It was the perfect place to fall in love with him.

I am so excited to say that we've booked the trip.

WE ARE GOING BACK!

Back to our beloved Skagway.
And the best part is we get to take our sweet boy.
We get to show him this beautiful place that we adore so much.
I can't wait for him to be a part of this memory.
We are headed back next summer. It's quite a ways away but I'm just so thrilled that the tickets have been purchased and it's planned.

This is what I've been waiting for for 4 years. (How many fors can we get in there?)
It's going to be wonderful to revisit the place that I love so dearly.
Skaggy, here we come!

  2. Holy shiz nit...I can't wait to go back to our lover's randevous (spelling?) I have been thinking about Alaska non-stop ever since we bought our tickets. Maybe we should have waited as I am not sure if I can wait 10 months. What is stopping us from moving there again?
