DIY Gallery Wall (Easy)

Gallery walls are fabulous but I have had the hardest time putting them together in the past. But with the help of the world wide web and my own little spin on it I've discovered what is in my opinion the easiest way to hang a gallery wall. Unfortunately I was lame and didn't take and photos while I was doing it so I had to improvise a bit and borrow a couple images from other blogs.

Materials
All your lovely frames and items to be hung
nails
hammer
newspaper
scissors
masking tape

Gallery Hangin
1. The first part is the trickiest. Lay out your gallery on the floor how you would like it. This is the most time consuming for me because I'm very particular and need to it be perfect.

2. Then cut out pieces of newspaper the exact size for each item you are hanging on the wall.

3. This is where I changed it up a bit. Place the newspaper pieces on top of the actual items and start taping the pieces of newspaper together with long strips of masking tape (you will use up a lot of tape... sorry). Make sure each piece is connected with a strand of tape or two.

4. Now take your connected pieces and tape them on the wall where you'd like the gallery to be hung.

5. One by one either nail the actual item over it's newspaper twin and tear off after or replace it with the newspaper as you go. You're all finished!

And there you have it, the easiest gallery wall hanging in the book (as far as I know).
Good luck hanging!

  2. They say gallery walls are on their way out but I LOVE them. We have one at home and it's a work in progress. I love displaying all different types of art and it somehow all meshes together.

  4. You mean just hanging them wherever and having to rearrange and cover up nail holes to accommodate more pics isn't the right way. I am far to impatient & lazy to do it your correct way.

  5. Hi Alyssa! This is sort of random but you popped over to my blog a couple weeks ago when I did an InstaFriday post. I just wanted to let you know that I'm giving away a set of 4-5 photos from that shoot. Maybe you could put 'em in a sweet gallery wall like the one above. ;) I'd love to have you drop by and win a set!

  13. Great idea. We did our gallery by arranging the pictures on the floor and taking a photo of it. Used 3M strips to hung everything. No nails on the wall for me...
