Valentines Day Was a Smashing Success

Well folks my little Valentines plan went smoother than butter I'd say. It was seriously a blast with the tent, fondue, and scavenger hunt, and the husband was utterly surprised (I'm not one to go out on a limb for holidays).

I love how the heart garland turned out. So easy. I cut out all the hearts using the fold paper in half and cut half the heart method, then taped them along a strand of ribbon.

The fondue was delicious. This cheese fondue recipe I used will most definitely be used again. I decided to use french bread, chicken, potato wedges, broccoli, zucchini, carrots, and pearl onions for dipping.

This was my version of the pie shot. For Noah I made his favorite rhubarb pie (I basically just made the pie then shoved it in this glass) and for mine I made creamy peanut butter pie. So tasty. Layer of chocolate cookie crust, layer of peanut butter cream, whipped cream on top.

Besides getting me my precious cockatiels, the husband put together a cute basket for my personal enjoyment. He even included a homemade jar of I love you Because... notes. He is so thoughtful, how did I get so lucky?

The photo scavenger hunt was so fun. It lead him to his gift underneath the babies crib which was a single serve teapot and tea infuser (which he has been wanting for ages). It was fun to watch him scavenge around the house in search of the next clue.

We finished off the Valentines evening snuggling in our tent with the pup and this flick. Its the cutest little story, if you haven't seen it, rent it.

Happy Valentines Day all you lovebirds. Hope your day was as enjoyable as ours.

  1. That tent is the most adorable thing ever. And I absolutely love the paper hearts garland. I am tempted to create my own garland and leave it up year round. As I sit here and reflect on the idea, it seems more and more fabulous. Okay, I think I really am going to make that garland and put it somewhere in my house. Thanks so much for the cute idea!
