Valentine's Day On a Budget

I have never really been a huge advocate for V day. I never could get into it. Plus, Noah and I are a boring married couple now. We aren't real mushy people. I don't want flowers, I don't want chocolates, and I don't really want him to take me out to dinner. I do want to show him that I care and appreciate him. And I'm gonna do it on a budget. We're having a stay-in Valentines celebration courtesy of Pinterest and Martha Stewart. Here's my plan, Stan.

1. Decorate with love.

Remember when you would spend hours turning your living room into a giant tent? Well how fun would it be to set up a canopy tent and have a little fondue dinner underneath it? This looks so cozy.

I'm not a big Vday decorator but why not string a heart garland or two up?
Heart shaped collage of photos of the happy couple. (The husband and I)

2. Food for the Heart.

I love a good fondue. And how about some pink sparkling cider?

3. Sweet, Sweet Love.

This Red Velvet Milkshake recipe looks so delicious. The perfect Valentine's treat.

Noah loves fortune cookies, so I thought I'd whip up a batch. But why stop there, how about some felt ones as well.

Unfortunately Noah doesn't like conversation hearts, but how about some conversation heart cookies?

Who doesn't love cake dessert shots? But have you heard of pie shots? We will be trying this.

Macaroons are the cutest thing. I have been wanting to make some homemade and here's my chance.

4. Fun Lovin'

When Noah gets home there will be balloons all over with love notes inside. I guess my sappiness is coming out.

Watch a good old fashioned romance flick. My top two picks: of course Breakfast at Tiffany's (what's Valentines day without Audrey?) or When Harry Met Sally, romantic yet comedic.

I'm really excited about this. I'm going to take close-up pictures of things around the house (to make it more difficult muahhahaha)  then hide the photos in each of those places. Then the last photo will take him to the place where his Valentine's Day gift is.

Look at me, I'm becoming such a sap. Anything to show my sweet that I love him.
Happy Valentine's Day!
