Homemade Fruit Leather....MMMM Good
So I hate fruit. I understand hate is a strong word but in this case that truly describes my feelings about it. But I can't get enough of fruit leather.... I'm addicted. We went to WinCo to get some the other day and it was 50 cents a strip which I think is pretty pricy. So I decided to make my own. I bought apples, pears, and grapes. Peeled, cored, and chopped up the pears and apples then simmered them in some water for about 15 minutes. Then I strained the water out and pureed it in the blender. Then I poured the mixture out onto a plastic wrap lined pan. Baked it in the oven on 150 degrees for about 7 hours. It came out so great it tasted exactly like the store bought brand. I'm not sure it was necessarily cheaper to make my own but it was fun... maybe I should get a food dehydrator.
That does look delicious! I love fruit leather! About how many did it make?
