Little Christmas Details

It really is all about the details. We went all out for Christmas last year and all of our Christmas expenses ended up costing a small fortune so this year we scaled back a bit. I added a touch of festiveness here and there and really, that's all you need in my opinion. I went to Taiwan Imports in Midvale and spent hours there just looking and scampering through the aisles. I just love that place. I picked up a few things there like the wreaths you'll find below, a long garland that I placed over the fireplace mantle and a few other knick knacks. I also got a few things at Taipan. It's definitely beginning to look like Christmas over here.

I made this pine cone garland from cones and twine. So simple. Hanging it was another story. Duct tape doesn't work. Noted.
Don't you just love the little wreaths. They add so much to the bookshelves. They were a dollar each. Yes a dollar.
The stockings are the same from last year I made them from a shirt and sweater I bought from the thrift store.
I made this felt wreath last year. Love the cardinal. I noticed I've been using a lot of cardinals for my Christmas decor. Love it.

And for the Christmas tree of course. We went with a real one again. You can't beat that fresh pine smell.

We used the same ornaments as last year but added a few extras. The berry garland, burlap tree skirt, and white sprigs. The sprigs are actually sticks that I gathered from Liberty Park that I painted white. It adds a little something. The burlap tree skirt is 3 yards of burlap that I threw under there and bunched up a bit. No sewing required.

Don't you just love Christmas? I learned this year a little goes a long way. Save those bills for presents.
